This is a picture of the Ptolemaic
Universe. It depicts the the Earth as the center of the Universe. Of
course then as now the Earth was known not to be the actual center of the
Universe. What it does show is the "Order of the Spheres" also
known as the Sephirothic Spheres, which have direct
relevance in relation to Kabbalah and Kabbalistic Astrology.

In addition
the
model also illustrates that the wise among the ancients did not
actually believe that the Earth was the center of the Universe, but that the Earth
was the vantage point wherefrom we viewed the Universe, therefore making
it the center relative to our point of view only.
This article is in two
parts - the top article very precisely explains how the stars actually
influence the Earth and life on it - the lower article explains the
theory behind Kabbalistic
Astrology.
To illustrate the practical importance of the heavenly bodies
the actual mechanics that brings about their specific effects on Earth
must be understood. Without this knowing the position of the planets
would be meaningless. This understanding removes the mystery of stellar
influence and
one can then work in a practical manner with these sometimes useful -
sometimes detrimental but always powerful forces.
The following explanation
is best read from the heart to be fully comprehended and appreciated.
In order for us to see we need an organ that is more than just a
lens. A camera is an example of such a device but as much as it can
capture an image it is neither conscious nor affected by what it
captures on its film. In other words it cannot actually see.
In order to capture light and be affected by what it contains the
receptive organ must be analogous to the light and what is generating
it.
If there were not light, eyes would not be necessary. But eyes exist
and are therefore formed out of the light. They did not evolve out of an
evolutionary process; the light made them that it
(the light)
might be perceived.
All (most) of the points of light in the sky are spherical in shape
just like our eyes. When our eyes see these countless stars they become
like them. When seeing the star filled heavens with the eye the entire
infinite creation of that heaven is recreated within the eye and we,
being similar, are captivated by this. Similarly, we seek out the light
of the Sun and bask in it. We find a special blissfulness and awe in this light
entering us through the eye.
Our Earth has at its surface an atmosphere that when it is acted upon
by these countless lights creates an eye around our Earth.
Our Earth, as well as the greater part of celestial bodies, is
spherical and the atmosphere around this radial form acts like a lens. This lens focuses
everything around it towards its focal point, which in a sphere, is the
center.
In principle, the closer to the center
of the curvature
(focal point), the greater the
concentration of light.
If the human eye on a small scale can recreate the stellar heaven
within them provoking an effect, then how much greater will the affect
be of the "great earth–eye
(atmosphere)" be upon the Earth itself.
The light of the stars is reflected on the surface of the atmosphere
and is projected onto the Earth’s surface producing its effect through
its concentration.
By this reasoning the exact opposite of the scientific view is
revealed. That is to say that the atmosphere is not in the way of
clearer celestial observation at all. In fact, the lower you are in the
atmosphere, provided that the air is clean, the more stars are visible
and their visibility is also improved because your observations are
being aided by the greatest lens available on the planet. The lens,
the eye, of the Earth; it’s atmosphere. Remember that long before
telescopes, Saturn was already seen to have had rings.
One of the latest methods of analyzing the composition of a
substance is by burning it and measuring the light spectrum it gives
off. All elements give off a distinctly different spectrum of light. From the
emitted light scientists can say what the material make up of a compound
is.
This principle was not created by scientists it is a law of Nature. A
body can only emit from itself particles that are similar to itself
and no others. This,
of course, is also very true of the celestial bodies and the light they
freely emit and/or reflect. This light is pregnant with finer substances
that are similar to the celestial body that had emitted them.
Because we tend to look at life and existence in a far too material manner
we find it hard to accept that everything is actually made of a spiritual substance,
including light.
When the light from the
distant stars and planets hits our atmosphere it condenses to form life
substances called "specifica." These affect the Earth and what lives on
it. This light becomes the dew in the atmosphere and acts as a germ of
life bringing forth the multitudinous species.
The specifica also act as a
food of life for the various organisms/species inclusive of the Earth
itself. Without
their own particular air borne specifica species die off.
Presently the man made
poisons in the air consume some of the fine specifica in the air that
would serve as food to a particular specie consequently certain plants
die off and other species develop ailments.
There are therefore many different types of air that we cannot
measure by scientific means.
Consider the uncountable number of stars in the night sky and look at
the almost infinite variety of life beings on Earth, these are a result
of the effect of the stars. The number of species on our Earth is
conservatively estimated at about 10 million.
When a star and its light become extinct so does its effect on Earth.
The plants and animals that depended upon that stars light substance
will cease to be. Should the light of a distant star reach the Earth for
the first time it will give rise to other forms.
Depending upon the nature of the star or heavenly body
emitting the light, the effect of their light will be either beneficial
or detrimental. This influence can give rise to various ailments or
plagues affecting large populations. These plagues vanish as fast as
they start. This is also the reason why there are
good and evil animals and plants.
Someone who is sick has
consumed their good specifica or has accumulated bad specifica through
air or food. A physician in the order of Nature is therefore seeking out
of Nature this or that specifica to be found in the mineral, vegetable
or animal kingdoms to be used against ailments to recreate equilibrium.
If one celestial body moves in front of an other the effect of the
body in front will nullify the effect of body that is behind.
The Sun and Moon cycle through the constellations at different
intervals. The Moon cycles through the constellations once every 29
days, while the Sun cycles through in about 12 months; one constellation
per month.
Inevitably the position of the Sun and Moon in the sky will obstruct
one or another star of a constellation not permitting the effect of the
light of that star to affect the Earth. By this omission an effect is
produced on the Earth.
Farmers could use this information to their advantage. In a farmers
almanac the places of the Sun and Moon are listed and this information
used to be used for planting and harvesting certain specific crops. This is
seldom done today.
In short the perceptible changes we feel on Earth, weather being
among them, are due to these principles in action. Consider for a moment that the
same temperature in spring, summer, fall, and winter will feel
correspondingly hotter or cooler due to what stars are present. 70
degrees in summer feels noticeably warmer than 70 degrees in winter.
There is more heat specifica in summer than in winter.
The positions of the Planets, The intensity of the Sunlight, Solar
eruptions, etc all affect the light that comes to the Earth and
therefore affects it.
In addition our atmosphere is layered, and just like with a magnifying glass the
effects of the light just behind the glass will not be as intense as it
would be as the light approaches the focal point, the light becoming
denser as it gets closer to the Earth surface. Therefore it is in the
lower atmosphere that the effect of the light is more manifest.
Naturally the mountains will receive the lesser portion of the specifica
borne out of the light
relative to the lower lying regions. This is why there is less
vegetation on top of the mountains compared to the lower regions. The
plants at those altitudes do not have what they need in the air to grow
and for the same reason the air is generally cleaner in the heights. The
lowest layer is about 1.24 miles high, about 6000 feet. (Lowest level of
the zone girdling the Earth)
Also, for this reason less stars are visible at the heights and more
can be seen at sea level with the naked eye.
These effects do not occur
because of the Suns effect alone. The Sun has a supportive effect, it
also helps to carry the light of the other Stars
(reflects).
This is the basis for what
is commonly called astrology and why and how it affects the Earth and
the life it bares.
Whereas modern day astrology is primarily used for mantic, that is to say
prophetic, or divination purposes. This is only a very partial view of
its scope. It is also an excellent weather prognosticator.
There exists an analog relationship between the astrology of the
actual stars and the zones referred to astrologically in Kabbalistic
astrology.
