was an American. He was born on March 18, 1877 and died on January 3, 1945. Edgar Cayce was also known as the “Sleeping Prophet.” He displayed psychic abilities after an injury. Anyone who is familiar with the human being from the natural point of view will understand that this is an entirely possible circumstance. Before his injury he displayed no such abilities.

For the sake of clarity the term “psychic” simply means “of the soul.” Therefore, someone who is truly psychic (there are many nuts claiming to be) is simply a person who is able to see with the eyes of their soul within the realm of the soul. No evil can be attached or attributed to this ability per se.

Edgar Cayce was able to give answers to questions on subjects such as health, theology or history, while in a self-induced relaxed state. Cayce considered himself a devout Christian and would likely have been shocked that some present day people had called him the founder of the New Age Movement.

Cayce became a celebrity toward the end of his life and was surprised and perhaps dismayed that the publicity given to his prophecies overshadowed what to him were the by far more important parts of his work, such as healing and theology.

Needless to say Cayce had his skeptics who challenged that Cayce demonstrated psychic abilities. Traditional Christians also questioned his unorthodox answers on religious matters such as reincarnation and Akashic records.

Today there are thousands of Cayce students, more than 1000 books written about Edgar Cayce and Edgar Cayce Centers found in more than 35 other countries.
