Hermes Trismegistus – Thoth – Pharaoh – High Priest of Ancient Egypt – Father of Hermetics

Hermes Trismegistus

hermes trismegistus, trismegistos, toth, hermeticsWithout getting too scholarly; Hermes Trismegistus is the name given by the Greeks to the Egyptian Pharaoh, High Priest and God Thoth. The Romans call him Mercury – “the messenger of the Gods.” Many things have been attributed to Hermes Trismegistus. Communication is under his dominion and therefore he is the “contriver of the Higher Hieroglyphics,” numbers and letters. The phrase “As Above, So Below” is his axiom. He was the teacher of the Sacred Mysteries in Ancient Egypt we have come to know as Hermetics. Hermetics includes the entire body of physical, astral and spiritual disciplines that strive towards a full spiritual awakening.

hermes trismegistus, trismegistos, thothThe entity we historically call Thoth or Hermes Trismegistus is also known as Mercury – representative of the Kabbalistic Mercury Sphere of Mercury. (not to be confused with the planet Mercury).

“Under his jurisdiction is all knowledge of the entire cosmic hierarchy. He monitors the intellect and therefore all theoretical knowledge, regardless of the particular field of knowledge. He directs the maturity of knowledge, the intellectual perceptive faculty of any being in the entire cosmic world order. This genius not only guides the intellectual perception and the intellectual talents of individuals in accordance with maturity and development, but also those of all the inhabitants of an entire planet. All sciences and arts on all planets which are in harmony with the intellect and reason are under the jurisdiction of this arch-genius” – among other things! – A very hard act to follow.

Although it is very difficult to make absolute assertions about who Hermes actually is, using the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg, Jakob Lorber and based on what we know of Franz Bardon there exists the possibility through deduction that Thoth is a specific incarnated archangel but, we are reluctant to state absolutely which one without being absolutely positive.

If you have come to this page looking for information on the practice of Hermetics look no further than to Franz Bardon.

These are all big statement to make but given the above mentioned attributes and past incarnations, this being exists for the benefit and progression of the human race and the designation of Archangel would not be without merit. The equivalent of his ancient instruction in our modern times have been incarnated in the works of Franz Bardon and complimented by the New Revelation by Jakob Lorber.

People talk about angels and archangels left and right without having any concept of what the function of an angel or archangel actually is. Here we have presented the scope and magnitude, with only a partial list, of the responsibility of an archangel that came to Earth under the auspices of Divine Providence to fulfill a mission for humanity and it would appear that he has done it more than once for the benefit of those who live and have lived on Earth.

It must be remembered that the original Egyptian religion was very Christian-like and, arguably; it was religion in its purest form. According the writings of Jakob Lorber. The ancient Egyptian religion centered around a singular omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent God – Ra, which was what the ill fated Pharaoh Akhenaten had futilely tried to restore. At that time the only symbol that represented the Godhead was the all encompassing orb. The wings that were attached to it symbolized the realm of the spirit which is what all religions recognize as the domain of the Divinity. The symbolic figures having the heads of animals were just that; purely symbolic, representing various aspects and duties of beings in the afterlife or other spiritual concepts. As a more enlightened Egyptologist had suggested, all of the various representation of gods were nothing more than the representation of the different archetypical aspects of the same one God of a monotheistic belief system.

The later corruption of these symbolic representations into a pantheistic cult was created by the priesthoods for profit and Egypt eventually fell. Given that no one is in a position to assess the accuracy or meaning of the symbolism it is best left uncriticized by those who would carelessly call it pagan. The wisdom and technologies of Ancient Egypt are often the subject of speculation but, it is still largely veiled and literally lost in the “sands of time.”

thoth, hermes, trismegistos, trismegistusAt the time of the Jewish Exodus from Egypt, the Jews took their freedom but, likely also took a lot of the Egyptian wisdom with them including the Kabbalah.

Another interesting tidbit of information regarding the origins of Ancient Egypt is to be found in the writings of Jakob Lorber.

In the very ancient city of Hanoch, (Atlantis – located to the East of Greece, where Plato had said it was) which was located in the region that is now occupied by the Caspian sea because of its destruction by the Great Flood, there had been warnings of its coming destruction. From the city of Hanoch 10,000 of its inhabitants left and established what is now known as Egypt. All of the old ruins and its religions were created by those people. Those people were caucasian and espoused a universal religious belief that came from the time when Adam still lived. This statement is being made out of the work of Jakob Lorber.

There are works of literature that are printed and after a few years fall into complete obscurity. It is not insignificant that the literary works of Hermes Trismegistus have survived to this day, several thousand years after having been written, which means that, like the Holy Bible, they must contain the power of survivability and life.

Most would be surprised to discover that Jesus Christ Himself was training his own disciples into Hermetic practices as is revealed in the work of Jakob Lorber and, that the entire Bible as explained by Emanuel Swedenborg in his Arcana Ceolestia is actually a book of high Hermetics.

The Emerald Tablet of Hermes Trismegistus – Thoth

“True, without falsehood, certain and most true, that which is above is the same as that which is below, and that which is below is the same as that which is above, for the performance of miracles of the One Thing. And as all things are from the One, by the meditation of One, so all things have their birth from this One Thing by adaptation. The Sun is its Father, the Moon its Mother, the Wind carries it in its belly, its nurse is the Earth. This is the Father of all perfection, or consummation of the whole world. Its power is integrating, if it be turned into earth.” Hermes Trismegistus
