On The Subject of Prophets

Prophets Have A Purpose And It Has Never Been About Power Or Money

The Lord Himself said; “I have many more things to say to you but you cannot bear them now. But when He, the Spirit of Truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.” (John 16: 12,13)

This statement suggests that God has a desire to communicate with and to guide us. Apart from direct inspiration, prophets have been the vehicle for this, the theory being that if God Himself were to communicate directly with all of us it would constitute a “judgment” for most of us.

There are many prophets in the Old Testament. Yet, it seems odd that there are none to be found in the times after the New Testament. Evil has certainly grown since the crucifixion of Christ and one might think that the Heavenly Father would have sent some one to comfort and prepare His children before the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is not implausible but, those who would be called upon to recognize the authenticity of whether someone is or is not a prophet would not be qualified themselves to conclude this. And, none have been recognized by present day churches except for the ones that they have spawned.

In some Christian denominations prophets are elected by other men rather than being appointed by God although they see this as one and the same. Others claim to have apostles heading their organizations. According to the Bible the Apostles were chosen by Christ. They could heal the sick and raise the dead. These latter day elected apostles are usually on pharmaceutical medications. If they can not even heal themselves, how can they be expected to heal others – let alone raise the dead. It is not hard to draw simple conclusions under these circumstances.

The Truth, according to the New Revelation there has been a prophet sent to the Christian world every 100 years or so since the crucifixion of Christ. These men are never affiliated with any particular Christian religious sect. They simply reaffirmed Christian teachings in varying degrees of detail and depth. They were always persecuted by those in higher positions of power within Christian society. Some died in prison or in exile. All were ostracized to some extent. Yet, their works survive; only after their deaths have their works been recognized by relatively few deserving individuals.

It should also be mentioned that if there are true prophets, then there are, and there must also have been many false prophets. To find out more about how to recognize a false prophet click here.

Jakob Lorber is believed by many to have been one of the latest and perhaps one of the greatest prophets, who’s works describe everything within God’s creation, human existence on every level, the actual consequence of sin and the purpose of Christ’s first and second coming.
